This week, we’re taking a closer look at a classic—the Sauer 100 Classic XT. It’s a bolt-action centerfire repeater made by J.P. Sauer & Sohn of Germany, a company founded in 1751. The rifle is available chambered in .222 Remington, .223 Remington, .243 Winchester, 6.5 Creedmoor, 6.5x55, .270 Winchester, .308 Winchester, 7mm Remington Magnum and .300 Winchester Magnum. It’s Sauer’s “price-point” rifle, featuring blued metal and a synthetic stock. It measures 42 inches long, and weighs 6.7 pounds as it comes out of the box.
