Leica Sport Optics has unveiled its first thermal imaging camera designed specifically for hunters: the Calonox. Available in two versions, the Calanox comes as either a purely hand-held observation device—the "View"—or as a mounted device for a riflescopethe "Sight."

Thanks to the Calonox’s large sensor and high-resolution (1024x768) OLED display, both optics offer the highest observation quality, paired with a three-button interface that is both user-friendly and ergonomic. As previously mentioned, the "Sight" version of the Calonox can be used in conjunction with a conventional riflescope, and thus only comes equipped with 1X magnification. The "View," however, designed for standalone use, boasts a 2.5X optical magnification with a 640x480 pixel sensor. Both models feature 42mm lenses, and weigh a mere 17 ounces. A permanently installed rechargeable battery with a minimum operating time of six hours serves as the power supply.

Both Calonox models have an MSRP of $3,999, and will be available for purchase in late summer 2020. For more information on these handy low-light scouting tools, visit leicasportoptics.com.

Hardware Review: Henry SPD HUSH

If you’re a lever action traditionalist, the Henry Special Product Division (SPD) HUSH may befuddle you. Not only does the SPD HUSH eschew traditional features, but it’s also purpose built for something that ol’ Benjamin Tyler Henry could never have imagined. HUSH is short for Henry’s Ultimate Suppressor Host.
