Pre orders for the Henry 1860 SUV Eagle are ongoing, a custom-engraved edition of its H11 New Original Henry Rifle developed in collaboration with the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War ("SUVCW"). A portion of the proceeds from every sale will support SUVCW's mission to preserve the history and legacy of America's Civil War veterans. Pre-orders are available exclusively at HenryUSA.com.

The H11 is Henry's faithful line-for-line reproduction of the 1860 Henry rifle, originally produced by the New Haven Arms Company, one of the most recognizable and influential firearms of its era. This new edition distinguishes itself through engraved details developed with SUVCW, transforming the rifle into a tribute piece while preserving the overall form and function that has made the H11 a cornerstone of Henry's lineup.

"The original Henry rifle is the first commercially successful lever-action repeating rifle in history, and it was born right here on American soil," said Anthony Imperato, founder and CEO of Henry Repeating Arms. "This project lets us honor that legacy while supporting an organization working to keep an important chapter of our nation's history alive for future generations."

Engraved receiver

The engraved solid brass receiver is the centerpiece of the 1860 SUV Eagle edition, featuring the SUVCW logo, the organization's motto, "Fraternity, Charity, Loyalty," period-correct scrollwork, and the years "1861–1865." The rifle boasts a deeply polished blued steel 24.5-inch octagon barrel and a fancy-grade American walnut buttstock with a brass crescent buttplate.

Each Henry 1860 SUV Eagle is custom-built to order, with serial numbers assigned sequentially as purchases are received, so the earliest pre-orders receive the lowest serial numbers in the edition.

The Henry 1860 SUV Eagle is available for $4,160 direct from HenryUSA.com (MSRP $4,620). Verified SUVCW members receive additional savings through a members-only access code issued by the organization.

SUVCW will direct proceeds toward its core programs in historical education, monument and memorial preservation, and public outreach. The partnership extends Henry Repeating Arms' Guns for Great Causes charitable initiative, which has supported veterans' organizations, children's hospitals, and conservation groups across the country.

"The Henry rifle became one of the defining firearms of the Civil War era," said project lead Ben Hobbins from the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War. "This partnership gives our country a way to celebrate that history while helping ensure the stories of 'The Boys in Blue' continue to be remembered and shared."

Recipe: Venison Empanadas

When Brad Fenson makes venison empanadas, the goal is simple. Keep the meat front and center, add enough flavor to complement it, and make a filling that stays juicy without overpowering the wild proteins. The filling is rich, balanced, and built to highlight venison, whether baked or fried.
