Weatherby has continued to roll out new product line, and among its most recent announcements was the arrival of the new Wilderness rifle, the latest iteration in the company's popular Vanguard series.

Like many of its brethren, the Vanguard Wilderness ships with an accuracy guarantee. So long as you're using premium ammunition, Weatherby guarantees that the rifle will produce a three-shot group measuring 0.99-inch or less at 100 yards, from a cold barrel. Aiding this assurance is a cold-hammer-forged, matte, bead blasted, blued finished barrel. Twenty-four inches in length, the free-floating barrel is fluted to save weight. As such, the rifle weights 6.75 pounds. A drop-box style magazine, which will be available on certain chamberings, can further reduce the rifle's weight to 6.5 pounds.

The Wilderness features the respected Vanguard action, which is affixed to a hand-laminated, raised comb Monte Carlo, carbon fiber composite stock with full length aluminum bedding plate, matte gel coat finish, and spiderweb accents.

It stays within the Vanguard line's pricing structure, too, and will ship with an MSRP of $999.
