Barnett has released the Wildcat CRX, a powerful yet quiet crossbow designed to tackle tough game. The simple, recurve design makes it easy to operate while also boasting advanced features typically found in much higher-priced crossbows. With a tip-to-tip length of 18 inches cocked and 25 inches uncocked, the CRX is ideal for hunters who want a highly maneuverable crossbow that takes a bite out of prey at close range.

The Wildcat CRX also has an Anti-Dry-Fire Trigger system, as well as finger safety reminders above the pass-through foregrip to provide safety, precision ergonomics and comfort for unparalleled shooting experiences. In addition, the CRX has a quality, Metal Injection Molded trigger with no creep.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
