Last week, Idaho-based Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls did outstandingly well at the 2019 World Elk Calling Championships (WECC) in Park City, Utah, at the RMEF Mountain Festival on July 11 and 12.

Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls were used to win first and third place in the Professional Division, first through fourth place in the Men’s Division, second through fourth place in Women’s Division, first and third place in Voice Division, and first place in the Peewee Division.

Corey Jacobsen won his 11th World Elk Calling Championship after taking first in the Professional Division with several Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls, including the ELK101 signature series Bully Bull Extreme bugle tube, Temptress cow/calf call and All-Star and Champ diaphragm calls. Josh Fields used the Reaper and Black Magic diaphragm calls, along with the Wapiti Whacker bugle tube, to claim third place in the Professional Division. This was also Fields’ first-ever calling competition.

In the Men’s Division, Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls swept the top four spots. Jermaine Hodge took first using the Black Magic and Reaper diaphragm calls in his first WECC appearance. Cory Christman was second with his Wapiti Whacker and Champ diaphragm call. Cole Dunegan came in third place using the Bully Bull Extreme tube and All-Star and Contender diaphragm calls. Coming in fourth, Rustyn Fu used his Bully Bull Extreme call in tandem with the Champ and All-Star diaphragm calls.

In the Woman’s Division, Lydia Smith placed second using her Wapiti Whacker call and both the Black Magic and Reaper diaphragm calls. Third place went to Kate Forest, who also used the Wapiti Whacker and Black Magic diaphragm call. Jessi Jacobsen used a Bully Bull Extreme tube and All-Star diaphragm call to snag fourth place.

In the Voice Division, Hannah Holiday used both the Wapiti Whacker and Bully Bull Extreme bugle tubes to claim her third World Championship in the Division. Sam Jacobsen also used the Bully Bull Extreme call to take third place.

Christopher Fong, age 10, took the No. 1 spot in the Peewee Division with his Bully Bull Extreme bugle tube and Mini Master diaphragm call.

With these wins, Rocky Mountain Hunting Calls products have won more WECC events than all other call companies combined.
