If you want to kill ducks and geese, you’re inevitably going to get wet. It’s just part of the package. If you’re getting wet, your favorite gear is, too. And while most of a waterfowl hunter’s favorite tools are perfectly capable of functioning no matter the conditions, it’s nice to be able keep things dry when required. Though they’re not necessarily designed specifically with the bird hunter in mind, the dry bags offered by Browning through SPG Outdoors make for ideal companions on frozen lakes and in marshy wetlands alike.

The Bear 4500 RT Dry Bag offers 4,500 cubic inches of space and is 100 percent waterproof. It features an air-release valve and a roll-top closure, which lets you compress the pack for more room and easier packing. Not that it matters for birds, but it’s also totally scent-proof. SPG offers a Browning-branded Electronic Case, too, which uses welded technology and a leak-proof closure to keep smaller items secure and dry, but easily accessible. Mine certainly came in handy when I took a dunk in the Great Salt Lake.
