On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re checking out the Cascade Rimfire, from CVA, a lightweight rimfire absolutely perfect for tackling squirrel season. Chambered in .22 Long Rifle, the Cascade Rimfire sports an 18-inch barrel that hits the perfect sweet spot between easy accuracy and maneuverability. This Bergara-made barrel is threaded at the muzzle to 1/2x28 TPI for the easy addition of a suppressor. Moving rearward, a two-piece stretch of Picatinny rail sits atop the receiver, for the easy addition of your favorite rimfire optic. Down below, the action feeds from a 10-round CVA rotary magazine, and is fully compatible with 10/22 magazines, making it easier to find a suitable magazine in a pinch. We experienced no issues with loading or charging in testing the gun, with the bolt exhibiting a fast, smooth stroke, the trigger an easy release, and the magazine both snapping in firmly, and dropping free without a fuss. The gun also features a 2-position toggle safety that can easily be actuated by the thumb in firing position.

The Cascade Rimfire series comes in three distinctive looks— either blued metal with a stealth-grey composite stock; tungsten finished with an OD Green stock with black webbing; or blued with a walnut stock. Both composite offerings tip the scales at 4.75 pounds, while the wood ups the weight to 6.6 pounds.
