Umarex USA has released a bolt-action CO2-powered rifle, designated the Fusion 2. An update of their original Fusion pellet rifle, the Fusion 2 promises the best aspects of the earlier platform, with the addition of a SilencAir muzzle device, a nine-shot rotary magazine, a flexible CO2 power system and an all-new stock design.

To keep this pest-controlling plinker quiet, Umarex reworked the SilencAir to optimize its performance with the Fusion 2. As such, Umarex promises the impact of the .177-caliber pellet on the target is actually louder than the report of the gun. The magazine has also been redesigned as a rotary, and will hold on the last pellet seated, to prevent its getting out of sync. The magazine additionally features a last-shot indicator to prevent dry firing.

While the Fusion 2 can be powered by two 12-gram CO2 cartridges just like the original Fusion, it utilizes a removable 12-gram adapter to do so, which can be removed in favor of a single 88-gram CO2 cartridge for longer shooting sessions. On average, shooters can expect around 70 shots from a pair of 12-gram CO2 cartridges, and around 250 with a single 88-gram cartridge.

To aim, the Fusion 2 comes with a 4-32X scope, which mounts to an integral Picatinny-style rail. An ergonomic stock with grip serrations on the forend, and a raised cheek piece for a solid weld, help maintain a consistent sight-picture throughout one's shot. Finally, the Fusion 2's manual safety is recessed into the stock, just above the trigger on the right side. This lever is oversized with a 90-degree throw, for positive engagement and disengagement.
