Swarovski Optik North America introduces the dS, a digital rangefinding riflescope that combines the exceptional qualities of Swarovski sport optics with digital targeting technology.

With the press of a button, the dS factors previously inputted ballistic data, the magnification setting, air pressure, temperature and shot angle then measures the exact distance to the target. A heads-up display provides hunters with a correct aiming point and all other relevant hunting data in real time.

The dS can do this with input from its user via an app used to upload personal ballistic data for a firearm/cartridge combination. The scope requires networking with a smartphone; exchanging information between the two devices is straightforward via a Bluetooth interface. Personal sight-in data are uploaded directly to the app and transmitted immediately in the field. The correct aiming point shown is based on key personal ballistic data inputted previously by the user. Even windage interval marks are calculated based on the distance measured, wind speeds inputted and the ballistic data inputted.

The Swarovski dS riflescope is a hefty 5X-25X-52mm riflescope that, according to Swarovski representatives, should retail for a hefty $3,800.
