Nowadays, you’d be hard pressed to find a hunter unfamiliar with game cameras, if not their use. Like the rise of cell phones among our ranks, serious hunters don’t remember what they did without them. And as their use became more commonplace, the cameras’ evolution rendered the questions of the past irrelevant. Does it shoot color images? You’ll find a black-and-white TV before you find a game camera that doesn’t shoot in color. What about video? Standard, with audio. How about the all-important trigger speed? If 1 second doesn’t do it for you, try the .2-second speed of Bushnell’s Trophy Cam. Time-lapse, multi-shot or burst function and infrared nighttime use—these cameras do it all. And while certain aspects of each one may appeal to you, like the 64 GB memory card capability of Stealth Cam’s G42NG, or the simplicity of use and price tag attached to Primos’ Proof Cam, a “bad choice” doesn’t exist among them.

Here are the numbers on seven of the industry's finest offerings. Evaluate and choose wisely, fellow hunters.
