Sub-gauge shotguns are quickly gaining in popularity. Whether used by a child learning to hunt or an adult that wants something light for small game, sub-gauge shotguns are the hot thing, and more companies are producing them every year. Here's a look at the top four new sub-gauge shotgun models introduced for 2020.

1. Marlin 1895 .410
Marlin is best known for their lever action rifles. For 2020, Marlin introduced the Model 1895 in .410-bore. Only chambered in 2½ -inch, this lever gun comes with two options; either a fixed open choke, or flush removable choke tubes. Should you choose the removeable tubes, your new Marlin comes with an Improved, Modified and Full choke tubes. You’ll be starstruck with the beauty of the American black walnut stock and polished blue finish on the barrel, loop and receiver. This lever gun makes the perfect addition to any sub-gauge collection. MSRP: $846.94; marlinfirearms.com.

2. Remington Model 870 410 Turkey TSS
The last time Remington produced a Model 870 in .410-bore was back in 2007, but the new decade has brought the chambering in the popular line back. Remington has also branched into the TSS turkey shotgun shell market. Therefore, as part of that addition to the ammunition line, the choke tube included with the 870 .410 Turkey TSS is designed to work in conjunction with the company’s TSS shells to knock down anything in their path. It features a Tru-Glo high-visibility front sight and a Picatinny optic rail. MSRP: $699; remington.com.

3. TriStar Viper G2 Turkey
The TriStar Viper G2 has consistently been one of the best-selling .410-bore shotguns on the market. TriStar has certainly perfected the semi-automatic .410 shotgun. New for 2020 is the Viper G2 Turkey, which features a pistol grip and is covered in Mossy Oak Bottomland camo, while the barrel and receiver are a Cerakoted Midnight Bronze. The company also added a Picatinny rail the top of the receiver for easy optics mounting, so it’s ready straight from the box using either the front bead sight or by adding a red-dot optic. MSRP: $715; tristararms.com.

4. Savage 301 Turkey XP Bottomland
For 2020, Savage has updated its popular 301 single-shot break-action with the new 301 Turkey XP to include an improved stock and a 1x30 red-dot optic mounted and bore-sighted right out of the box. Covered Mossy Oak Bottomland camo, this fun .410-bore features a 26-inch barrel optimized for Federal Premium’s popular Heavyweight TSS turkey shells. Additionally, since it’s chambered in .410-bore, it’s a great starter shotgun for kids or those who want a challenge in the turkey woods. MSRP: $239; savagearms.com.
