For 2022, Benelli has taken its venerable upland over/under to a new level with the new 828U Limited Edition, featuring new performance and styling enhancements.

At a glance, the 828U Limited Edition stands apart with its nickel-plated steel frame and elegant game scene engravings along the sides, top and bottom of the receiver—a perfect complement to the shotgun’s luxurious, satin-finished AA-grade walnut furniture.

Both accenting style and providing rugged field performance for the 828U Limited Edition is the BE.S.T. (Benelli Surface Treatment) gloss barrel finish. Utilizing a proprietary coating that calls on nanotechnology and diamond-like carbon particles to provide an armor-tough coating to steel, Benelli says the BE.S.T. finish is so dependable that it includes a 25-year guarantee against rust and corrosion on all BE.S.T. coated parts.

A limited-edition model in the truest sense, Benelli will produce only 200 units of the 828U Limited Edition in 12-gauge with a 28-inch barrel.

As with all other 828U models, the 828U Limited Edition includes all the performance features that have made this over/under a standout in the field, including impulse-activated ejectors, a top lever striker reset and the Benelli Progressive Comfort System recoil mitigation in the stock. Beyond these innovative features, the 828U also sports a removable trigger group for easy cleaning, adjustable drop and cast for a custom fit, and Benelli’s patented steel locking system that prevents shotshell pressure transfer to the receiver and hinge pins.

Range Review: Winchester Supreme Long Range Ammo

Winchester's latest ammunition line is the Supreme Long Range centerfire rifle ammo, and that line is built around its BC Max projectile. Using a thick, drawn copper jacket, steep boattail at the rear and a relatively oversized polymer tip, the BC Max bullet is built for resisting wind deflection and retaining energy downrange. Check out Phil Massaro's review of the new ammo line here.
