Long famous for producing some of the most accurate component bullets on the market, the Sierra name is equivalent to precision shooting. In addition to the benchmark MatchKing bullets, the GameKing, Pro Hunter and the new GameChanger bullets have been serving hunters for decades. Federal has offered several different cartridges loaded with Sierra bullets, but they have been mainly a component part.

New for 2019, Sierra has proudly announced their GameChanger loaded ammunition, topped with the polymer-tipped boattail GameChanger bullet, essentially a Tipped GameKing. The brass casings have the Sierra headstamp, and I’m happy to report that the ammunition carries on the tradition of fantastic accuracy that Sierra has so deservedly earned.

At the 2019 SHOT Show Industry Day at the Range, I had the opportunity to shoot the new ammunition in hellacious wind conditions; gusts of over 30 mph changed direction every ten minutes or so. Using a well-built precision rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor, I was able to connect every time on a 12-inch wide steel target at 890 yards, in spite of that wind, with a bullet designed for hunting. Needles to say, I became as big a fan of the Sierra ammunition as I have been of their component projectiles.

Available in .243 Winchester with a 90-grain Game Changer, 6mm Creedmoor with a 100-grain GameChanger, 6.5mm Creedmoor with a 130-grain GameChanger, .270 Winchester with a 140-grain GameChanger and .308 Winchester with a 165-grain GameChanger.

The new Sierra GameChanger ammo has an MSRP of $44-$47 per 20-round box. For more information, visit sierrabullets.com.
