For 2019, Taurus introduces its brand-new TX22, a full-sized rimfire polymer pistol. While handling it at on the 2019 SHOT Show floor, I was impressed by the feel and balance, as well as its disassembly system.

Disengage the TX22's striker by pulling the trigger (make sure the firearm is empty first), pull down on the tabs located just forward and above the trigger, and lift the slide assembly off. Re-assembling is just as easy, simply line up the slide assembly, push the assembly down tight to the rail, then rearward. That’s it; you’re back in business.

The trigger is innovative as well, utilizing a shroud to create a trigger safety rather than the usual center-blade. Barrel length is just over 4 inches, and weight is right at 17.3 ounces.

A small Picatinny rail up front makes it easy to mount a light or laser, and the 16-round magazine offers plenty of firepower. The TX22 would be an awesome all-around toting-pistol for shed hunting excursions, prairie dog plinking, and rabbit hunting.

The TX22 has an MSRP of $349. For more information, visit taurususa.com.
