Kimber will produce firearms in Troy, Ala., starting in early 2019. The new operations facility will incorporate the design engineering and manufacturing portions of production.

Leslie Edelman, Kimber’s president and CEO, explained, “In Troy, we have a community dedicated to our long-term success.”

“Long-term success” is a key factor in Kimber’s expansion. Kimber CFE James Cox explained, “Due to an unprecedented year-over-year growth in demand ... [I]t was important to us to build a facility that will allow us to secure a significant new plateau of capacity.” For more than two decades, Kimber has operated solely out of facilities in New York and Montana to try to keep up with demand. With the new plant in the South, the company will double its firearm production capabilities.

Greg Grogan, chief operating officer at Kimber, said, “This expansion, in conjunction with our existing manufacturing facilities, talented and experienced employees, and best-in-class products, provides for exciting times here at Kimber.”
