As we've seen, the Weatherby Vanguard Camilla came about as a project to make a true women’s rifle. The forearm is slimmer, as is the pistol grip, which has a shorter trigger reach, making the rifle more comfortable in a woman’s hands. With a higher comb, together with a 13-inch length of pull and a different stock angle, give women a much more formfitting firearm, which aids in more accurate shot placement as the end result.

For 2017, the rifle will be chambered in a new caliber: 6.5 Creedmoor.

"Since introducing Camilla … the glowing response from female shooters has been amazing ... It was a natural extension to offer the rifle in 6.5 Creedmoor for long-range match shooting and hunting. It packs a serious wallop without harsh recoil, so it's really a joy to shoot this gun,” said Adam Weatherby, President of Weatherby, Inc.

The Camilla comes standard with a two-stage match-quality trigger, along with a 20″ cold hammer forged, blued #1 contoured barrel that combine to shoot sub-MOA groups, guaranteed.

The Camilla will still be available in .243 and .308 Winchester, as well as 7mm-08 Remington, and will have an MSRP of $849.
