OtterBox has introduced its new Trooper soft cooler line with two offerings: the Trooper 20 and Trooper LT 30, both packed with features hunters will appreciate.

The 30-quart Trooper LT 30 features 2-inch wide padded carrying straps that can convert from shoulder carry to backpack carry.  A largemouth opening allows for easy loading and unloading, and two exterior pockets with water-resistant zippers allow for extra storage. MSRP: Hazy Harbor & Alpine Ascent, $299.99; Forest Edge (Realtree Edge camo) $349.99.

The 20-quart Trooper 20 includes one shoulder strap for sling-style shoulder carry, a foam insulated lid that is secured by a compound latch and one exterior pocket with a water-resistant zipper. MSRP: Hazy Harbor & Alpine Ascent, $249.99; Forest Edge (Realtree Edge camo) $299.99.

Both Trooper coolers feature top-notch thermal insulation that OtterBox says will keep ice for 72 hours, and seal to prevent water and dust from contaminating the food-grade interior liner. The new soft coolers also incorporate a mounting system designed for various OtterBox accessories, such as the included bottle opener.

With heavy-duty bases and a coated nylon exterior, the new Trooper coolers are water, puncture, UV and chemical resistant, meaning each unit can take as much abuse as you might put them through. And if not, the coolers are backed by the OtterBox limited lifetime warranty.

Coyote Tactics: Stay Flexible

The successful hunters I know do not get hung up on one tactic. They constantly float between strategies in an ever-changing hunting environment. Quite simply, they’re flexible. I take that improvising nature to heart even for coyotes, particularly when they shun my calls for whatever reason. When that occurs, I continue the hunt, but modify my strategy to fit the scenario.
