Revel DLX And Classic Lede

Savage Arms has added two new rifles to its line of rimfire firearms and entered yet another category with the Revel Classic and Revel DLX, two takedown-style lever guns, bring a fresh perspective to the classic lever-action rimfire rifle.

Revel Lever Action taken down

Revel’s lever-action mechanism delivers smooth and reliable cycling with a crisp trigger. Simple, quick take-down in the field or at the range qualifies this even as a backpack rifle. Equipped with a tubular magazine, Revel offers enough firepower for plinking or small-game hunting.

Revel Models Lefthand View

"Savage Arms proudly introduces the Revel Classic and Revel DLX as we expand into another new category for the brand and company," said Beth Shimanski, director of marketing at Savage Arms. "These firearms combine cutting-edge features with the timeless appeal of a classic lever action rimfire rifle. Fun and convenient, the takedown capabilities mean precision and reliability are as portable and versatile as ever."

Revel Open Action

Shooters can easily access all necessary components thanks to its simple disassembly design. The aluminum receiver enhances the gun's durability and reliability, while the smooth lever action of the Revel rifles combines with a crossbolt safety feature for safe and easy handling. In addition to its exceptional functionality, the Revel DLX features a contoured walnut stock with intricate stippling for grip and comfort, whereas the Revel Classic utilizes a walnut stock with a classic straight grip. A rubber butt-pad reduces any felt recoil to enhance overall control.

Revel DLX Front Angle

The oversize lever loop of the Revel line enables swift and effortless operation, allowing shooters to maintain focus on target when charging the action. The drilled and tapped receiver offers the flexibility to mount optics for more accurate shooting. Furthermore, the adjustable iron sights and medium-profile carbon steel barrel contribute to the overall versatility and performance of these lever guns.

Revel DLX Rear Angle

More information about the Savage Revel Classic and Revel DLX lever guns, currently available chambered in .22 LR, .22 WMR and .17 HMR,  is available at savagearms.comMSRP: $439-539

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
