A great way to get pup acclimated to gunfire is to take him on frequent trips to the clays range.

Start off in the parking lot for a quick feed or bout with his favorite toy. As summer progresses, gradually bring him closer to the action. By the time September doves start flying, both you and pup will be better prepared, and thanks to Remington’s new American Clay & Field shotshells you can hunt with the same load you use for his (and your) training.

The line features top-shelf components such as STS primers, Power Piston wads, reloadable hulls and high-antimony lead shot for better patterns—at a price that won’t cut into pup’s food budget. Available in 12-, 20- and 28-gauge, as well as .410 bore, from Academy Sports and Outdoors, and Cabela’s.
