Savage Arms has announced their Minimalist Rimfire Rifle line, billing it as a different take on the classic rimfire design. With green or brown laminate stocks for lightweight strength, the models are built around matte-black, sporter-contour, threaded barrels, which are button-rifled for accuracy. For the easy addition of an optic, Weaver-style bases are pre-installed atop the rifles' carbon steel actions. Below the action, meanwhile, sits the company's proprietary AccuTrigger, user-adjustable from 2.5-6 lbs. Fed by 10-round detachable box magazines, this bolt-action line of rifles is available in .22 Long Rifle, .22 WMR and .17 HMR.

“Minimalist combines the perfect balance of lightweight ergonomics and reliable performance,” said Beth Shimanski, firector of marketing for Savage. “At just 5.68 pounds, they’re perfect for backyard plinking or hunting on the move. You can carry one all day and hardly feel it.”
