undefinedI’m here in Salt Lake City, Utah, at the launch of a new product the creators say could revolutionize hunting as we know it. And they just may be right.

SilencerCo just debuted a shotgun suppressor not 30 minutes ago, the Salvo 12. The Salvo 12 is made to suppress a 12-gauge shotgun firing 23/4-inch or 3-inch slugs or wadded shot. Current MSRP is $1,400.

The Salvo 12 is built around a series of rods and baffles to muffle the sound of a shotgun blast, and SilencerCo promises it will greatly reduce the recoil on a shotgun, too. The suppressor is built in four different size configurations, from 6.42 inches long to just a bit over 12 inches, and weights from 21 ounces, at the smaller length, up to 34.5 ounces.

SilencerCo tested the Salvo 12 with pump-action, gas-driven and inertia-driven shotguns from the top shotgun makers, including Beretta, Browning, Mossberg, Remington and Weatherby.

I will be shooting the Savlo 12 on a variety of shotgun platforms this afternoon. Can’t wait!  More photos and video to come.
