Hornady has announced the introduction of its new CX (Copper alloy eXpanding) bullet, which the company says is the most advanced monolithic hunting bullet on the market. Its optimized design delivers extended range performance, greater accuracy, 95 percent weight retention and deep penetration.

The CX features a Heat Shield tip that is made of a heat-resistant polymer that resists aerodynamic heating and provides a consistently high BC for the bullet's entire flight path. It also gives the bullet a perfect meplat (tip) for bullet-to-bullet and lot-to-lot consistency. The grooves on the CX maximize aerodynamic performance while effectively reducing bearing surface and fouling.

In addition, it is fully California compatible and appropriate for use in other areas that require nontraditional bullets, providing a great option for everything from medium- to large-sized game.

The new CX is available as component bullets or factory-loaded in Hornady’s Superformance, Outfitter and Custom ammunition. For more information, visit hornady.com.
