Handgun hunters and 1911 aficionados rejoice—Springfield Armory has introduced their Ronin 1911 chambered in 10mm Auto. Combining classic 1911 lines with modern features, the Ronin is a full-size Government model, with a 5-inch barrel and an 8+1 capacity. The slide and frame are both of forged steel, while the barrel is hammer-forged for increased strength.
In terms of more modern features, the gun boasts forward slide serrations, a memory bump on its beavertail grip safety, a fiber-optic front sight and an extended safety lever. While the rear sight mat look like a standard white-dot at first glance, it is cliffed off to a flat ledge on the front for easier one-handed racking, should the situation require. Finally, a Spingrfield Armory 2nd Generation Speed Trigger rounds out the modernized components of the Ronin.
Learn more about the Ronin, which comes with Crossed Cannon premium laminate wood grips, a stainless-steel checkered flat mainspring housing and a basepad-equipped magazine, at springfield-armory.com. MSRP: $849
