Firearm laws can vary greatly from state to state, and ignorance isn’t a valid legal defense, so it’s important for responsible gun owners traveling with a gun to be aware of the regulations governing firearm usage for every state along the way.

Written and researched by J. Scott Kappas, Traveler’s Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States is a quick-reference guide that covers everything from transporting a firearm in a vehicle and concealed carry reciprocity to where and how a gun can be carried for all 50 states and the District of Columbia, as well as travel to Canada and Mexico.

The 23rd edition of the Traveler’s Guide features over 100 changes since the 2018 edition, including new online updates for conditional reciprocity states, 50 new subheads in each state’s traveler’s checklist detailing ammo carry and possession rules for each state, and new page formatting for easier reading and reference. Additionally, a handy introduction that explains the difference between “shall issue” and “may issue,” as well as legal definitions found in concealed carry statues, rights to self defense and vehicle gun possession, and defines terms of importance used throughout the book.

The 2019 Traveler’s Guide to the Firearm Laws of the Fifty States has an MSRP of $14.95 (including shipping). For more information or to purchase a copy, visit gunlawguide.com.
