Leupold & Stevens, Inc. has introduced its new SX-5 Santiam HD 27-55X-80mm spotting scope, which the company says has been designed from the ground up to deliver the top-tier performance and durability that diehard hunters require.

Available in both a straight and angled model, the SX-5 Santiam HD features a generous eyepiece for edge-to-edge clarity, sharpness and definition, and fully multi-coated lens coatings to eliminate color aberration and distortion. Its durable, lightweight armor includes scratch-resistant and water-shedding lens coatings to ensure it can stand up to any task a hunter requires in all weather conditions. Delivering what hunters and shooters have been asking for, the SX-5 Santiam HD also features a Porro prism construction, ultra-fine center focus wheel, adjustable eyecup and indexed rotational tripod ring.

The SX-5 Santiam HD features the company’s esteemed Twilight Max HD Light Management System, help achieve less glare and higher performance in low-light conditions, giving hunters the opportunity to make the most of their day afield from first to last light.

“The human eye is most sensitive to colors outside the middle of the spectrum during dawn and dusk, when game is moving – the Twilight Max HD Light Management System literally helps you see more in less light,” said Zach Bird, Product Line Manager for Leupold & Stevens, Inc. “The superior glare reduction it offers ensures the maximum amount of usable light gets to your eye. Our proprietary lens coatings and superior optical design help deliver the very best contrast and resolution, ensuring you'll be able to see things like tines in heavy brush in very little light.”

The SX-5 Santiam HD is 100 percent waterproof and fogproof, and comes with a protective soft-side case that remains on the spotting scope during viewing for maximum utility. Both straight and angled models come in a Shadow Grey finish and have an MSRP of $2,339.99.
