Are your kids interested in archery? Here are a couple bows that will get them on target in a hurry this summer.

The Mathews Genesis is a great place to start. It's the No. 1 bow used in the National Archery in Schools Program (NASP) for good reason. Adjustable for draw length and draw weight, the Genesis will fit any child—or the parent providing the instruction. Once kids learn their safety fundamentals, they can shoot alongside their parents in their own backyard. The fact the draw weight adjusts from 10 to 20 pounds accommodates even kids with the smallest physical statures and means the bow can grow along with the shooter. The Genesis is available in 10 fun colors, including blue raspberry, lemon, orange, pink lemonade, black and camouflage to name a few. Visit genesisbow.com or mathewsinc.com/product/genesis.

Stepping it up a notch, Mathews owns a bow company named Mission, which makes some great youth bows. Two of its most popular models are the Menace and the Craze. These are the bows my husband, Phil, and I got our nephews, Andrew and Joey, when we saw how much fun they were having and how much they wanted to pursue archery and one day go bowhunting with us. As with the Mathews Genesis, both Mission bows have some flexibility to adjust for draw weight and draw length so parents don’t have to worry about their kids outgrowing them quickly.
