Is it me or has the Junior Duck Stamp Contest begun to rival the adult competition? Hot on the heels of last year's stunning—if not controversial—winning canvasback painting by Madison Grimm, 16-year-old Si youn Kim's depiction of a king eider is no less impressive.

A native of Tenafly, N.J., Kim's acrylic painting will appear on the 2014-2015 Junior Duck Stamp. Proceeds from each $5 stamp, which go on sale this summer, support conservation education.

The competition's runners-up included:

2nd Place
Andrew Kneeland, 16, of Rock Springs, WyomingAcrylic painting of a trumpeter swan with cygnets

3rd Place
Jiahe Qu, 15, of Chandler, ArizonaAcrylic painting of a hooded merganser.

For more information, visit the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Junior Duck Stamp Program. Congrats to all contestants on their fine artwork.
