For a point-blank encounter with some of the most famous and highest-scoring whitetails in the world, don't miss NRA's Great American Hunters Tour. With heads like Mel Johnson's world record Pope and Young Typical and Del Austin's world record Pope and Young Non-Typical on display, it is a must-see for whitetail enthusiasts.

But if you can’t make it to your local outdoor show to check out these big boys up close, here’s the next best thing. With our new feature, Inside the Great American Hunters Tour, AmericanHunter.org will be presenting these world-class bruisers like never before.

You’ll get expert commentary, inside stories and a look at every drop tine and crazy kicker. We might even debunk a few myths along the way.

First up, manager of the NRA's Hunter Services division Bob Davis examines the highest scoring typical whitetail of all time, the Milo Hanson Buck. Davis dubs Milo’s monster the “King of All Bucks,” and who can argue (the Boone and Crocket Club certainly didn’t).

After Hanson downed the 14-point in 1993, the giant scored 213 5/8 net points, obliterating the old world record of 206 1/8.
