Federal has introduced an all-new shotshell line for 2017: The Hi-Bird shotshell. Perfect for upland birds, doves and pigeons, the Hi-Bird line uses the patented two-piece SoftCell shot wad, which will both reduce felt recoil and best protect the shot column, in order to deliver the best pattern for a quick and humane kill.

That same SoftCell wad is employed in the Gold Medal Grand line, which competition trap and skeet shooters have come to rely on to win. With the new Hi-Bird shotshells, it’s both convenient and affordable for hunters to practice with the same ammunition that they use in the field. The Hi-Bird line is comprised of 2¾-inch shells, in 12-gauge, with the Hi-Bird Heavy at 1¼ oz. in both 6 and 7½ shot, and the standard Hi-Bird at 1 1/8 oz. in 6, 7½ and 8 shot.
