Allen Tejon Above And Whitetail 2 Below Gun Cases

Have a big rifle or slug gun that none of your soft cases seem to fit? Don’t let your firearms get banged up. Take a look at Allen’s Tejon or Bruiser Whitetail 2.0 cases!

Last year I was in a pickle. My schedule had me running errands every day and then trying to go directly to the woods for an hour or two to hunt in the evening. That meant I had to take my Savage 220 slug gun or my Remington 700 with me every trip so I could at least get some stand time in. The problem was that my current assortment of gun cases were too small for the Savage 220 and the place where I was hunting required I use a slug gun to deer hunt. I managed to find one older Allen case that the gun could slide in just barely, but I was afraid to zip it all the way for fear or stressing the zipper too much.

Fast forward to the end of the season and I noticed the zipper had separated. I do not recall ripping the zipper but it could have been my fault. It was a snug fit and I never fully zipped the case. However, sick of not having a good case that fit I went on a hunt for a good soft case that was affordable and I wanted one that was not from China. I contacted Allen directly and explained what happened and asked if they made a bigger case. I liked the old case I had but continued use was going to ruin it permanently. The lady at the company listened and then made a few suggestions. It turns out that they do make larger cases. The customer service I received from Allen and the lady that took my call was very good and will definitely keep me buying their products.

This case fits most rifles up to 50 inches. The height is up to 9.5 inches. I put my Remington 700 in it with plenty of room to spare even with the scope on it. Larger rifles will fit as well. It has three accessory pockets. One is very large and could hold a decent sized pair of binoculars. One of the other pockets could hold a mid-sized or small pair of binoculars, or a rangefinder, or box of cartridges and other small items. The smallest pocket would hold other hunting items such as a folding knife or bore snake. The pockets close with Velcro. This case has heavy foam padding for the bouncy truck ride to the hunting lease. The double zipper is oversized and appears well made. You could put a small lock on them if you wanted. There is an adjustable sling on the case as well. Mine is patterned in Mossy Oak Break Up Country. There is a metal D-ring on the muzzle end of the gun if you want to hang it up. The sling is detachable as well.

Whitetail 2.0

Bruiser Whitetail 2.0

This case fits rifles and slug guns up to 48-inches long with 10.5 inches of height. My Savage 220 fit in it and I was not struggling to zip the case. I have a GPO scope on it too which made it taller in the case, but it still fit. The long pocket at the muzzle of the case will hold shooting sticks or a bipod. The liner is fairly easy to clean and yet still offers considerable padding. I do not worry about my scope getting banged with this case or the Tejon. There are four pockets for accessories with flaps that fit over bigger items; one of those pockets could fit a bottle of water. There is also a sleeve with cinch cord behind the pockets for something like a hoodie, small, rolled tarp or other flattened or rolled item on the outside of the case. This case also has an adjustable sling and a ring on both ends to hang it up. I like the oversized zippers on the case as well. Cold fingers or gloved hands can get into it if need be. My case came in Mossy Oak Country DNA. This case is a good one for any big game, deer, elk, pronghorn or hog hunter.

Large pockets on whitetail 2.0

Both cases appear to be well made and will go the distance for those of us hitting the woods hard this season. Mine are a constant resident in the truck for the next few months and I rest a bit easier knowing the slug gun or rifle is well protected no matter the road conditions or the stuff that gets stacked on or around the case. Allen did a great job coming up with a large case to suit those of us with larger rifles or slug guns. Give them a look at  byallen.com.
