Nikon is releasing an upgraded version of its Archer's Choice laser rangefinder, providing a bevy of new enhancements for a design that's already a trusted tool among bowhunters.

New to the Archer's Choice design in 2013 is an improved LCD display with an LED illumination that allows for the selection of the mode that contrasts best against subject and background. The uncluttered screen displays ranges with Nikon's trademark speed in .1-yard increments.

The rangefinder also includes Tru-Target Technology, which allows users to select between first target priority mode and distant target priority mode. First target priority mode generates an accurate reading on an object as small as a fence post, while distant priority mode displays the range of the farthest target among a group.

The Archer's Choice features Nikon's multicoated optics and a design that's both waterproof and fogproof. It's pocket-sized and built with a rugged exterior.

The new Archer's Choice ships with an MSRP of $279.95.
