If you’re a 1911 aficionado, the Valor by Dan Wesson belongs in your holster. Equally capable as an outdoor carry or self-defense handgun, the Valor was a long-time flagship model for Dan Wesson. They discontinued it for a time, and are now reintroducing it with upgraded design and features.

Sporting all stainless-steel construction, the Valor is available in a bead-blasted stainless or a bonded black duty coat finish. Barrel length is 5 inches, and the grips are made from G-10 material. The grip safety and ambidextrous thumb safeties work equally well for right-handed and left-handed shooters.

Frame checkering allows for a firm, non-slip grip. A fixed night sight sits atop the fore end of the slide; a U-notch rear sight sits aft. Weight comes in just under 40 ounces, and the Valor is chambered in .45 ACP.

The MSRP for the Valor Stainless is $1,864, while the Valor Black model comes in at $2,181. For more information, visit danwessonfirearms.com.

Hardware Review: Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 A.I. BE.S.T

The Benelli Super Black Eagle 3 A.I. BE.S.T. is, put simply, on the fast track to being considered a waterfowling marvel. Standing for Advanced Impact technology, the SBE 3 A.I. shoots its shot with  improved downrange results thanks to a very, very proprietary barrel technology that actually assists in energy retention for greater downrange velocity.
