Designed to keep waterfowlers light, mobile and ready for the next flight, Sitka Gear introduces the new Delta VentLite Zip GTX Wader, the lightest Gore-Tex wader to-date, powered by Sitka’s VentLite GTX boot technology that promises maximum breathability and precise temperature control.

Wader Lineup

"This trailblazing wader was built to look at unforgiving weather patterns and harsh terrain not as a challenge, but as an opportunity to meet the animals we pursue in places we never thought possible and in conditions that have always seemed unbearable,” said Matt Carara, waterfowl product line manager at Sitka Gear. “These provide weightless performance that truly push hunters to navigate the most remote terrain with ease.”

Building on the foundation of the formidable Delta Pro Zip GTX Wader, the Deta VentLite Zip GTX integrates the all-season performance of the VentLite GTX wading boot. Lightweight yet durable, with exoskeleton reinforcements for puncture and wear resistance, these waders are built to tackle any challenge.

Gore-Tex Pro upper and legs ensure complete waterproofing, while internal knee pads, Cordura panels, and a durable Cordura webbing belt provide long-lasting protection in the harshest environments. High handwarmer pockets, two water-resistant zippered storage pockets, and a streamlined suspension system keep hunters comfortable, while the overhauled boot outsole with Sitka Apex Tread System delivers traction and easy removal at the end of the day. Finally, PrimaLoft Gold insulation provides critical warmth in freezing conditions while ventilating and expelling moisture on warmer days.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
