Mainmomentum Allterrainelite Long Action

Everyone loves a "truck gun"—a high-mobility, quick-to-action firearm that is ready anywhere, any time, particularly when a coyote or hog makes an unexpected appearance. In such a spirit, Franchi has introduced the Momentum All-Terrain Elite bolt-action, which they term as an "EDC rifle."

The Momentum All-Terrain Elite boasts a 1-MOA guarantee with premium ammo, and is equipped with a shorter 18-inch barrel compared to the 22- and 24-inch barrels on the standard Momentum Elite. This shorter barrel pairs with an extended Picatinny rail with a forward end that free-floats over the barrel. With this rail configuration, multiple optics options are presented—including LPVOs (Low Power Variable Optics), long-eye-relief scout-style optics, and modern magnifier-optic combinations. Also, in keeping with the modern scout-rifle concept, the Momentum All-Terrain Elite comes with a rugged flip-up aperture rear sight—adjustable for windage—and an elevation adjustable blade front sight system.

The Momentum All-Terrain Elite is chambered in either .308 Winchester or .223 Remington, making the series ideal for everything from varmints and predators to big game. Further, both chamber designs are rated for their respective 5.56x45mm NATO and 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition counterparts. To ensure ample rounds on-board, both rifles further include a 10-round Magpul AICS box magazine. Cartridges are fed by a fluted chrome three-lug blot with a 60-degree throw, while shots are released by a single-stage Relia trigger—adjustable from two to four pounds.

Being a multi-purpose firearm, the Momentum All-Terrain Elite necessitates a stock system that is adaptable to multiple field positions and shooting conditions. For this, a broad, flat-bottom fore-end enhances stability when shooting from ad hoc field rests and offers positive grip when shooting in the unsupported prone, kneeling, or standing positions. M-LOK attachment points on the stock fore-end make way for accessories, as well as a built in quick-detach slot for sling attachment.

The Momentum All-Terrain Elite rifles come with a TSA recoil pad, and QD mounts on the buttstock for sling attachment. Finally, each barrel is threaded 5/8x24 TPI to accept suppressors, custom muzzle devices, or simply the included factory muzzle brake.

For more information on the Momentum All-Terrain Elite, which is available in TrueTimber Strata and weighs in at 7.5 pounds, check out franchiusa.com. MSRP: $1,449
