No. 1 Buck Loads

Federal Premium has announced two new No. 1 Buck loads: the 12-gauge, Premium No. 1 Buck Load, and the 12-gauge, Power-Shok No. 1 Buck load.

The Premium No. 1 Buck load boasts a payload of 16 copper-plated pellets, producing tight patterns for more hits and better stopping power on predators, deer, hogs and more.

“Copper-plated No. 1 Buckshot really rounds off our Premium buckshot lineup,” said Federal Shotshell product director Dan Compton. “No. 1 Buck really lands in a sweet spot, overall. It delivers increased pellet counts compared to larger buckshot sizes. Yet also provides greater energy and penetration on target than smaller buckshot sizes.”

Its 2 ¾-inch magnum load features a muzzle velocity of 1,325 feet-per-second. Buffer is used in the shotshell to prevent pellet deformation and ensure dense, uniform patterns. A premium-quality wad, hull and primer, pair with enhanced manufacturing quality tests and checks for consistent performance. MSRP: $15.99/ 5-round box

For Power-Shok No. 1, a Triple Plus wad system, quality lead pellets and a granulated plastic buffer that minimizes shot deformation help provide excellent performance for hunters.

“No. 1 Buck has really grown in popularity over the past several years and we wanted to deliver on what hunters and shooters are looking for,” continued Dan Compton. “These new loads produce good patterns with lots of pellets on target.”

Numbers on this magnum load closely mimic the performance of Premium No. 1, though the triple-plus wad system provides one large point of differentiation. MSRP: $9.99/ 5-round box
