A number of very rare Winchester and Savage rifles will be put on display by the Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyo., beginning on April 29, 2012. The pieces were donated by firearms enthusiast Wes Adams, and will remain on display at the museum into early 2013.

Among the guns that will be on display is a Winchester Model 1886 takedown rifle in unfired condition that was custom made for John F. Dodge, one of the co-founders of Dodge Automotive. The gun's gold artistry and stock work was completed by Winchester Master Engravers John and Conrad Ulrich.

Also on display will be a Savage Model 1899 rifle, a Winchester Presentation Briggs Patent Lever Action Rifle, a Savage Model 1899 Monarch Grade Lever Action Rifle and more. The Cody Firearms Museum itself houses more than 6,500 historically significant firearms, dating as far back as the mid-1400s.
