Earlier this year, Browning re-entered the footwear market with the arrival of its Buck Shadow boot. For spring 2017, the line's expanding to include a new Trail Footwear Collection.

The Trail Footwear line, which features offerings for both men and women, is meant to be ready for any hiking trail or pre-season scouting trip. It will feature three different models: the Buck Pursuit Trail, Delano Trail and Glenwood Trail. Women's sizes range from 6-11 with half-sizes from 7.5-9.5, while the men's sizes range from 8-13 with half-sizes from 9.5-11.5.

"When we designed the Trail Footwear Collection we wanted to create durable and comfortable shoe to meet a wide range of needs,” said Browning Footwear Director, Chris Dunn. “The entire line of footwear fits the quality standard consumers expect from the Browning name."

The 2017 Browning line features a higher-density foam for added comfort, a compression molded EVA footbed with arch support, sueded overlays and abrasion-resistant materials.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
