ALPS OutdoorZ has launched its first pack designed specifically for women.

The Monarch X is designed to bring the same high end qualities and features found on the company’s other Extreme line packs to the first female-focused pack, meaning it was designed from the ground up to fit a woman’s frame by changing both the shoulder straps and the belt for a more customized fit. Sarah Beth Brune, ALPS marketing manager, said, “We recognized a hole in the market for a performance-driven, female-specific hunting pack and the next expansion to the Extreme line became clear.”

The pack has several straps to help maintain proper balance and weight distribution. Dual aluminum stays paired with special shoulder straps, along with multiple compression straps like lower bedding straps and extension lashing straps round out the support system. The molded foam waist buckle belt also has a few extra support straps, too, along with a pocket on each side.

Being both a daypack and a meat pack, it can be used for the casual outing as well as a hunting trip, thanks to the built-in stowaway meat shelf. The pack itself two side pockets, one front pocket and the main pocket. A hydration pocket and port are also included, as well as a pocket to hold a rifle or bow. To keep all the gear inside dry, the pack also comes with a rain cover, and to ensure durability and strength for years to come, it uses nylon fabric in conjunction with a synthetic rubber to fortify weak points.
