Outdoor retailer Gander Mountain has announced that it has entered into a partnership with NRA and will begin offering customers the opportunity to purchase NRA memberships in Gander Mountain locations. The partnership will begin in Gander Mountain stores in Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota. A national roll out will begin in September 2016.

The partnership is due to feature marketing and promotional collaborations, including direct mail and special in-store "NRA Weekend" events. The aforementioned locations will launch their inaugural promotion next week.

“We are proud to support the shooting sports industry through our partnership with the NRA and are committed to providing responsible citizens with access to firearms and educational programs that promote proper use, care, safety and security through our on-going ‘With Rights Comes Responsibility’ campaign,” said Derek Siddons, Gander Mountain’s President. “The right to own and use firearms comes with a responsibility to be educated and safe. With safety being our number one priority with firearms, we’re proud to have provided over 250,000 training sessions to our customers through our six Gander Mountain Academy locations since its founding in 2011.”

The partnership is effectively immediately. Customers will be able to purchase discounted NRA membership at select Gander Mountain stores across the country today.

“The NRA is thrilled to be partnering with one of America's premier shooting sports destinations, Gander Mountain. Gander Mountain is committed to protecting our Second Amendment rights and to firearms safety and training. One of the main goals of this partnership is to build on existing educational and firearms safety programs,” said Wayne LaPierre, National Rifle Association’s Executive Vice President.

The phased rollout of NRA memberships will include 26 store locations throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and North Dakota starting this week and will expand to all 163 locations by September.
