There's good reason for the annual SCI Hunters' Convention being dubbed "the ultimate hunters' marketplace" because the sky is the limit here in Las Vegas this week between the 1,200 booths on the show floor selling everything from guided hunting and fishing trips to art, boots and books and auction items ranging in value from as low as $5 to $100,000.

As for the silent, live and online auctions, everyone can get in on the fun--and feel good doing it because here's how SCI spends the fundraising dollars received from the $10 million worth of donated auction items: conservation, hunter advocacy, humanitarian needs and education. Funds raised at the SCI Annual Hunters' Convention account for an amazing 70 percent of funds raised in any given year.

As for the items out of my budget range, no problem because they're still fun to see. And if you're going to dream, dream big, as they say, which is what every hunter does at an SCI show. This year is no exception.
