Head out in confidence, comfort and style: Chevy and Realtree team up to echo American hunters’ sense of adventure.

Just as turkey season is really gearing up, hunters will be able to hit the woods in sure-footed style in the 2016 Chevrolet Silverado Realtree Edition formally introduced last week at the SHOT Show in Las Vegas. The specially designed outdoorsmen’s truck was unveiled by two men who’ve been instrumental in both hunting and motorsports, Realtree founder Bill Jordan and racing legend Richard Childress, who also now serves as the 2nd Vice President of NRA.
Both men expressed brand loyalty to Chevy and saluted the company for crafting a truck the perfect for taking hunters to the woods while working hard year-round.

NRA 2nd VP Richard Childress (l.) and Realtree's Bill Jordan teamed up to present a limited edition Silverado especially geared for the hunt. The new pickup will be coming to dealers this spring.
NRA Life Member Sandor Piszar, Chevrolet Trucks marketing director, said, “This great-looking, very capable Silverado offers another choice for customers looking for a truck with style, capability and dependability. Chevy trucks have always enabled customers to go where they want to go, and that’s the inspiration for the new Silverado Realtree.

Or as Marketing Manager Hugh Milne summed it up, “By covering the outdoor sector, this truck gets right to the heart of our core consumer.”

Camo treatment is actually quite subtle on the Silverado 1500 LTZ Z71 Crew Cab, showing in tasteful Realtree accents to the hood, front doors, tailgate and interior trim. The look is striking nonetheless with blackout treatment extended to the grille, wheels, and even Chevy’s signature bowtie. The debut model was decked out with an ‘80s-retro sport bar mounted with auxiliary lights. The truck, which can be ordered through dealers beginning this spring, can be had with either 5.3- or optional 6.2-liter powerplants.

On- and off-road performance will at least match the appearance. The package comes with Rancho monotube shocks, underbody shield and recovery hooks, as well as standard locking rear differential. A full electronics suite supports 4G Wi-Fi and phone integration via Chevrolet MyLink, with hands-free navigation and messaging and wireless charging.
