undefinedThe life of an NRA president is filled with little downtime. In NRA President Jim Porter’s case, he works more than his fair share of hours as a lawyer then turns around and tends to NRA business. It was great for me to witness him being able enjoy a few days of turkey hunting in between juggling all of his responsibilities.Porter earned his turkey grand slam just in time to head to the NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits in Indianapolis, April 25-27. As I get set to join him and the rest of the NRA-member family later this week, I want to share a few more pics from April 17 when Porter officially earned grand slam honors, dropping turkey subspecies No. 4—the Merriam’s—at the 923-acre Vermejo Park Ranch in New Mexico. Blizzard and buffaloPorter experienced everything from super-warm and sunny weather to blizzard conditions on that trip, making for quite a mix of different photos—especially when one thinks of a spring turkey hunt!If you’re attending the NRA show and happen to spot Porter in the exhibit hall, be sure to tell him congratulations on his hard-earned slammin’ success!Turkey snow day
