Winchester Repeating Arms has announced the return of the Model 1873 lever-action rifle—which is affectionately known as "The Gun that Won the West"—for 2013.

Now available is a genuine Model 1873, with an oil-finished walnut stock, classic blued steel crescent buttplate and a 20" round barrel, just like the original.

Other features include a full-length magazine tube, a semi-buckhorn rear sight and a Marble Arms gold bead front sight. The firearm also features a steel loading gate and receiver rear tang that is drilled and tapped for a tang-mounted rear sight. It will be available in .357/.38 Spl. chambering.

The Model 1873 ships with an MSRP of $1,299.99.
