On this week's #SundayGunday, we’re checking out the RX-5000 TBR/W rangefinder from Leupold. As its numerical designation implies, in Long Range mode, this impressive unit boasts a 5000-yard capability. What makes this extra impressive is that performance is not just on reflective targets, but on trees and deer-sized game animals as well. This makes Long Range mode a priceless tool to help navigate ridgetop to ridgetop when closing the distance on game during an extended stalk. To help out at such long distances, the RX-5000 boasts an 8X magnification for pinpoint precision, and the unit ships with an Arca Swiss tripod saddle.

In addition to Long Range, the RX-5000 still boasts Leupold’s immensely popular True Ballistic Range/Wind (TBR/W) mode, which takes into account distance, angle and bullet characteristics for the perfect hold. Twenty five ballistic groups come pre-loaded for MIL, MOA and CDS turrets. Standard Line of Sight mode is also included.

On top of all of these settings, the RX-5000 even integrates with the Leupold Control app, allowing hunters to remotely drop location pins to mapping apps like onX, Apple maps, and Google maps. A red OLED display with adjustable brightness allows for easy visibility in any environment; a variety of reticles can be cycled through depending on preference; and the entire unit is both waterproof and fogproof, for use in the harshest conditions. It retails for $699.99.
