Winter can be an especially stressful time for deer as the breeding season dies down and there is less food available to help them put on fat reserves for the long winter ahead.

Hunter's Specialties Vita-Rack Winter Forage provides a mix of clover and brassicas that can provide up to 34 percent protein to help deer get ready for cold weather.

Vita-Rack Winter Forage contains a mix of Dwarf Essex Rape, Alsike Clover, Sugar Beets, Hobson Rape, Samson Turnip and Dynamo Turnip. When planted in late summer it will provide a lush, thick food plot that deer can feed on throughout the winter. All Vita-Rack seed mixes feature high germination rates and a low percentage of foreign matter, making them a great value, as well as providing better plant coverage across the food plot.

When used in a crop rotation program with Vita-Rack Velvet Whitetail Clover, landowners can save up to 45 percent on fertilizer costs because the Velvet mix adds nitrogen to the soil, greatly reducing the amount of fertilizer that needs to be applied for optimum plant growth.
