Lederazor UHD

Vortex has introduced its Razor UHD 8x32 and 10x32 binoculars, a pair of compact solutions that promise to deliver the performance of larger binoculars in a sleek, more portable design. At just 5.7-inches tall and tipping the scales at 21.9 ounces, the Razor UHD 8x32s and 10x32s pack a smaller form factor, lighter frame, and all the key performance attributes once thought exclusive to full-size binoculars. These attributes include a broader field of view (FOV); razor-sharp image quality; comfortable eye relief; and standout low-light performance.

Key Features

  • UHD (Ultra High Definition) Optical System is designed to provide edge-to-edge sharpness and detail—crucial when telling distant twigs from trophy tines
  • Schmidt–Pechan Prism reduces bulk, while maintaining brilliant light transmission and clarity
  • Tripod Adaptable for extended glassing sessions in comfort, allowing precise and effective observation without fatigueRazor UHD 10x32

The Razor UHD 8x32 and Razor UHD 10x32 binoculars represent a fusion of ultra-high-definition clarity and rugged portability for hunters who put a premium on packability. As an added benefit, a newly updated and exclusive green GlassPak Pro Binocular Harness is now included with every Razor UHD model. The soft, quiet GlassPak Pro provides comfortable, one-handed access to binos, shielding them from the elements, scratches and accidental drops. Loops and modular attachment points secure the rangefinder pouch (also included), accessories, and even holsters for sidearms or bear spray. The inclusion of all these various accessories make either Razor a one-stop shop for hunters. From the ability to carry the binos afield, an included method to tote a rangefinder, and even an easy way to attach a backup sidearm or spray for bear defense, a hunter could conceivably buy a Razor UHD, adjust some straps, and take directly to the field.

Member's Hunt: Patience is Tough When You Shoot a Big Buck

My phone still in my hands, I texted my teenage son, who was hunting along the field not far away. Trying not to move any part of my body but my thumbs, I sent the message, “Got a buck down, but he’s still alive. Help!” Tucker texted back, “What do you want me to do?” I replied: “Come kill the bastard before he kills me!” Intrigued? Read on.

Behind the Bullet: The .308 Norma Magnum

Norma’s ballistician Nils Kvale saw the wisdom of having the velocity and horsepower of the .300 H&H Magnum, but in a shorter, more affordable receiver, and used the H&H case to develop his .358 Norma Magnum in 1959 as well as the .308 Norma Magnum one year later. The .308 Norma Magnum closely resembles the wildcat .30-338 cartridge, though the shoulder of the former is located a bit more toward the base than that of the .308 Norma Magnum. Intrigued?
