Ravin has announced the brand's most advanced crossbow to date, the R470. Designed to be the most accurate, user-friendly and high-performance crossbow on the market, the R470 combines a compact design with speed, durability and a silent, effortless cocking system.

Measuring just 26.75 inches long and 8.4 pounds, the R470’s compact build and elevated user interface is built for maneuverability and functionality without sacrificing performance. With a velocity of 470 fps and a power stroke of 13 inches, this crossbow delivers 196 ft.-lbs. of kinetic energy for maximum impact, all without added stress throughout the system.

Ravin’s all-new R470 is engineered for peak performance, delivering extreme speeds that perfectly complement its exceptional accuracy. At its core is the HexCoil Cam System, with dual cables above and below the centerline to create a perfectly centered arrow path. With 300 degrees of rotation, it delivers blistering speed, perfect balance and elite downrange accuracy, all in one of the most compact designs in the Ravin lineup.

Equipped with Ravin’s proprietary VersaDrive Cocking System, the R470 features a revolutionary dual lead screw drive for a smooth, effortless draw. The internal brake allows cocking and uncocking to pause or resume at any point, while the built-in clutch prevents over-cocking, ensuring silent and seamless operation. With an axle-to-axle width of just 4.3 inches when cocked and 8 inches when uncocked, the new flagship model comes fully assembled and ready for action. It includes Ravin’s 100-Yard Illuminate 550 FPS crossbow scope, three .003 arrows with field tips, a removable draw handle, a quiver, and a mounting bracket.

“The crossbow industry is an ever-changing landscape; the R470 is the result of years of innovation and research, perfectly blending our technologies into one superior bow,” said Russ Rowan, chief brand officer at Ravin Crossbows. “We continue leading the way by offering crossbows combining high-performance velocities with the durability and incredible accuracy our consumers expect. Ravin crossbows allow hunters to spend more time in the woods and less time worrying about their crossbow setup.”

Michigan Mayor Looks Down on Guns and Dogs

“If you’ve got a gun, you should be ashamed of yourself,” said Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand. NRA-ILA also noted that in his response to a police K-9 chasing down a suspect, LaGrand said: “It is time that we ask, ‘What are dogs good for?’ Like, if you need a dog to find someone in the woods, get a hound dog. If you need to chase somebody in a backyard, why couldn’t you do that with a drone? If my dog did what I saw in that video, I’d put my dog down.”
