Heritage Manufacturing is known for recreating modern versions of the nostalgic firearms of the old West, and perhaps none is more fitting of the wild West than the lever-action Model 92. Used by cowboys, settlers and mountain men, the Model 92 is a quintessential example of a “gun that won the West,” and 92 rifles from Heritage Manufacturing pay homage to that rugged, adventurous spirit, complete with modern-day precision and reliability.

Taking that adventurous spirit to the next level, the 92 Ranch Hand, admittedly impractical for most real ranch work, adds a level of fun that simply cannot be denied. Chambered in .357 Mag. and .44 Mag., this little lever-action will have you hooting and hollering like the cowboys of old and wishing you had a stagecoach to protect. With a barrel length of only 12 inches and a cut down, mares leg stock, this little rifle will have you running through a box of ammo as fast as you can work its big-loop lever.

With a total length that stretches the tape at 24 inches, this gun sports all the features of its bigger brothers including an adjustable buckhorn rear sight, a drift adjustable front sight, and a magazine tube that holds six rounds fed by a side loading gate.

Its alloy-steel frame and barrel will last a lifetime, and it even sports a modern thumb safety. The steel ring located on the rear of the receiver lends itself to belt carry and perhaps shooting if you are so bold. At the very least, it’ll make you want to wear a leather duster at the range so you can flip back your coattails to reveal the steel firepower hidden underneath. And don’t worry about recoil, the 92 Ranch Hand, despite its diminutive size, tames these handgun cartridges like the cowboys tamed the wild West.

Michigan Mayor Looks Down on Guns and Dogs

“If you’ve got a gun, you should be ashamed of yourself,” said Grand Rapids Mayor David LaGrand. NRA-ILA also noted that in his response to a police K-9 chasing down a suspect, LaGrand said: “It is time that we ask, ‘What are dogs good for?’ Like, if you need a dog to find someone in the woods, get a hound dog. If you need to chase somebody in a backyard, why couldn’t you do that with a drone? If my dog did what I saw in that video, I’d put my dog down.”

Coyote Tactics: Stay Flexible

The successful hunters I know do not get hung up on one tactic. They constantly float between strategies in an ever-changing hunting environment. Quite simply, they’re flexible. I take that improvising nature to heart even for coyotes, particularly when they shun my calls for whatever reason. When that occurs, I continue the hunt, but modify my strategy to fit the scenario.
