While modern turkey hunters are flush with hi-tech assets, nothing will ever erase the fundamental value of understanding the basic stuff that built the sport. With this notion in mind, the folks at Blocker Outdoors decided to delve deeper into the concept of uncomplicating things and rethought the way hunters carry gear into the field. The result was the original Finisher Chest Pack, which quickly became a turkey hunter favorite.

Finisher Chest Pack Pro Mannequin

The Finisher Chest Pack Pro is the kind of gear that takes the basic tenets of turkey hunting into consideration, while attempting to minimize the burden of a cumbersome full-size vest. This makes it a a straightforward alternative to a full-size turkey vest for run-and-gun hunters who want to balance loadout with freedom of movement. A series of simple, effective storage options for calls and other turkey hunting essentials include optional Thermacell and water bottle pockets that attach to the MOLLE strips, a magnetic top-loading main pocket large enough for full-sized binoculars, and zippered mesh pockets on the sides for additional secure storage.

"The thing about turkey vests is everybody prefers to set things up a little different, so we tried to build some variability in—not make the pockets too small for the variety of items hunters carry, for example," said Blocker VP of Sales Kevin Strong. "You have your extra shells in a pocket, but there is space for other things such as a headcover and a pair of gloves in the same spot. I tested this pack and to me it's like a work desk with everything you need easily accessed right in front of you, and again, the storage versatility is perfect because it allows the hunter to put things where they want them and not be restricted to very specialized storage pockets."
